Chrisanna Mastoraki was born in New York, U.S.A. and grew up in Chania, Crete. She completed her bachelor studies at the American College of Greece, Athens (BA in Psychology, Minor degree in Biology) and her graduate studies at the Hellenic American University, Athens in Clinical Psychology (MSc.) with Magna Cum Laude honors. Also, she currently is enrolled in Capella University to obtain her doctoral degree, PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and from June of 2018 she was awarded the position of a Teacher Assistant.
She has received training and specialized in the psychotherapeutic approach of Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RECBT) from the Hellenic Institute for Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (HIRECBT) in Athens, at which she is a member since 2012 and holds the title Fellow Associate from the Albert Ellis Institute, New York, from which the HIRECBT is affiliated with. Also, she is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and writes articles for www.psychology.gr.
She was a Scientific Associate of the Adolescent Health Unit (A.H.U.), Second Department of Pediatrics “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital, where she conducted clinical sessions with adolescents and represented the Help Line “ME Ypostirizo” 80011 80015 (free of charge). She was an active member of the program “Schoolers”: The 1st Day Care Center for children with school refusal and with an A.H.U. associate she coordinated Psycho-educational Parent groups for Adolescent Internet & Technology Use and Adolescent groups for development of Social & Emotional Skills.
Her clinical internship was completed at the HAU counseling center assuming clinical cases, conducting psychometric assessment and serving as a career counselor, where her master thesis was based on, “A Study of Well-being Levels on University Students”. At the HIRECBT she designed and co-lead the “Psychology Internship Program for High School Students”. Also, she presents at Panhellenic, scientific conferences, workshops and conducts seminars for parents & adolescents about teen issues.
Today, she is the Scientific Director of the Counseling & Psychotherapy Center “OriZo”, offering mental health services to adults, couples, parents & adolescents. The center was founded in 2015 in Athens but since 2018 is located in Chania, Crete.
